Emissions from a Beam Tetrode's cathode - The Wind

Jan. 8th, 2005 08:37 am The Wind

We've had gale force winds with intermittent rain for most of the night. The noise has been horrendous, the sleep, little.
Surpriisnigly there's little timber been shed from the local trees. They're obviously all in good health. I've been up since about 5 o'clock. Read the e-mail, updated the web site, had brekkie and played with the dog. The wind has abated somewhat but it's still rather rather blustery.

Weather permitting, I've got an antenna to construct this weekend. A 7 metre long folded dipole, vertically mounted, fed a third the way up from the bottom. Should be good for 7-30MHzish. It'll be supported on an 8 metre fishing pole. Got to get the portable gear ready for the upcoming camping season.

Received a film scanner yesterday. Slightly late chrissy present from Cynda. Can go through a large folder of negatives and several boxes of slides for incriminating pictures for the web site. No telling who may appear in public in the near future.

Postman's just called. Delivered a 2lb fruit cake from the mother-in-law in the US. Only 3780 calories (the cake, not the mother in law!), should go down a treat with a couple of pints of beer.   Thanks Connie.

Cynda  applied for a job yesterday. Part time receptionist at our local health trust offices. Let's hope not too many others apply for it.

I'd like to hope I get that job, Doubt I will. But there's always a chance.

Today I weight in at 108 Kilos, Weight loss surgery is working.
Got an email from someone in Peru who is moving to MK very soon.
Looking forward to meeting her.

Also got a short email from someone in Norwich who wants to join the support group. Trying to form a support group for weight loss in MK or in this region.

My mom is coming over in May and I'm really excited and anxious to get her here. I'm quite lonely here, and I have 1 best friend here named Kristina but she works alot. We try to hang out together when we get the time.

I go Monday 2 appointments . 1 to see about voluntary work as a receptionist if I do not get this parttime job I'll have something to fall back on. 2nd appointment late evening to see a Gastro Dietician. Someone who might be able to tell me exactly what my diet should consist of and to help me balance out my meals a bit more.

I have moments of feeling good and moments of deep depression. Hoping that changes very soon. I'm terriably homesick and really don't know how to get over it. But we shall strive on. With Nigel, I can do anything !
